Entries and fees must be received by February 20, 2026. Late entries will not be accepted.

By registering to participate in the Huntsville Festival of Music you are agreeing that the festival can use your name and or photos in advertising, promotion, social media, and websites. If you do NOT wish to have your photo published please contact:

RULES & REGULATIONS: 1. Registration: Forms must be completed in full. By submitting an entry, the participant agrees to abide by all rules.

2. Classes are open to AMATEURS only. An amateur is defined as a person whose principal livelihood is not derived from the performance or teaching of music.

3. Group Entries: Must be registered in the class corresponding to the oldest member’s age or the highest grade level.

4. Repertoire Info: Entry forms must include specific details (e.g., Sonata in G+ Op. 10 No.3, 1st Mvmt). "TBA" will not be accepted. Please indicate the accurate duration (time) on the form.

5. Time Limits: The Adjudicator reserves the right to stop a performance exceeding these limits:
- Junior (Gr 1-4): 5 mins
- Intermediate (Gr 5-8): 10 mins
- Senior (Gr 9-Open): 15 mins

6. Memorization: Memorization is compulsory for all solo competitors wishing to be eligible for awards or the "Concert of the Stars." Competitors using music will receive "Adjudication Only."

7. Accompaniment: Performers must provide their own accompanist. Recorded accompaniment is not permitted for Classical classes.

8. COPYRIGHT (STRICT):
- Adjudicators must be provided with an ORIGINAL score.
- Photocopies are prohibited unless accompanied by a publisher’s letter of permission.
- Digital downloads (IMSLP/Musicnotes) must show Proof of Purchase or Public Domain status.
- Failure to provide an original score for the Adjudicator will result in the performance being for "Adjudication Only" (no mark or award eligibility).

9. CONCERT OF THE STARS “CELEBRATING EXCELLENCE” : Join us on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at 6:00 pm for the festival’s grand finale! This concert highlights the most engaging performances from across all divisions and genres. Participants are nominated by our adjudicators for their achievement and artistry. Please monitor your email following the festival; invited performers have 48 hours to confirm their participation. We look forward to celebrating our award winners during this special community event.

2026 Huntsville Music Festival Locations

The Festival classes will take place on March 31st & April 1st, 2026 in 2 locations within downtown Huntsville:

  • Trinity United Church, 33 Main St E

  • Algonquin Theatre, 37 Main St. E


Dates and locations are subject to change – please check your application letter (due out in February) for your performance dates.

Although the Huntsville Music Festival cannot accommodate requests for specific dates and will not be held responsible should participants encounter a personal scheduling conflict with their appointed performance time – if we are made aware of potential conflicts in advance, we will certainly do our very best to take this under consideration.
